Nu Minds Tutoring – Navigating to New Heights

Hello World! – Navigating C Programming

OBJECTIVE

The five-day programme introduced first-year students to C programming through beginner-friendly, interactive sessions. It developed programming fundamentals, logical and problem-solving skills, and confidence in writing and understanding C programs, including for students with little or no prior programming experience.

EVENT OVERVIEW

The IEEE HKN Nu Eta Chapter conducted the online programme from 16 September 2026 to 20 September 2026, from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM each day via Google Meet. Approximately 120 first-year students participated. Sessions moved from foundational concepts to practical coding through live demonstrations, examples, quizzes, coding activities, and doubt clarification.

TOPICS COVERED

  • C programming fundamentals, variables, and data types
  • Input, output, and operators
  • Arrays and strings
  • Functions and pointers
  • Structures and organising related data

EVENT OUTCOMES

  • Built understanding of C syntax and core programming concepts.
  • Developed practical knowledge of arrays, strings, functions, pointers, and structures.
  • Strengthened logical thinking and problem-solving through coding exercises.
  • Helped participants gain confidence and interest in further programming study.

PARTICIPANTS’ FEEDBACK

Participants described the sessions as clear, interactive, informative, and easy to follow. They especially valued the step-by-step teaching, live coding, practical examples, quizzes, and doubt clarification. Students with limited programming experience found the programme useful and engaging.
