The programme oriented chapter officers and committee members on their roles and responsibilities. It aimed to strengthen the Website and Report Committees, introduce the Paper Conference and Recruitment Fair, explain Key Chapter and Outstanding Chapter Award criteria, brief members on upcoming activities, and introduce hackathon and mentorship opportunities.
The IEEE HKN Nu Eta Chapter of Sri Sairam Engineering College conducted the Officer Training Programme on 11 August 2026, from 2:30 PM to 4:10 PM, at Newton Hall, Sri Sairam Engineering College. The session was coordinated by Dr. P. Sathyaraj under the guidance of Dr. Soma Prathiba, Chapter Advisor. Senior members briefed newly assigned committees on website management, event reporting, research paper conferences, award eligibility, upcoming chapter activities, hackathons, and mentorship.
Website Committee: Members reviewed the chapter website and the committee's
responsibilities for maintaining the Events and Members pages. Professional members
recommended adding members' departments and consistent professional photographs.
Report Committee: Members were briefed on the standard event report format,
required report details, and the calculation and submission of HKN hours. Reports were
encouraged for events, meetings, tutoring, induction ceremonies, alumni outreach, and
Founders' Day.
Paper Conference and Recruitment Fair: The session covered collaborative paper
submissions from abstract through presentation, and a recruitment workshop introducing
participants to the hiring requirements of leading organisations.
Key Chapter Award: Members reviewed the chapter's three consecutive Key Chapter
Awards and the eligibility path toward the Outstanding Chapter Award, along with
opportunities for research publication and chapter updates.
Upcoming events and sessions: Members heard about Genesis, STEM, monthly tutoring,
invited professionals, and recording activities in the Annual Calendar.
Mentorship and placement guidance: The chapter's professor and professional
mentorship opportunities were introduced, with final-year students encouraged to share
placement experiences with junior members.
The programme clarified committee responsibilities and report procedures, including calculating and submitting HKN hours. It introduced members to the Paper Conference, Recruitment Fair, Key Chapter Award criteria, TEDx Hackathon, upcoming chapter activities, and mentorship support for academic and professional growth.
